There are those who believe social media is a fad and will pass and others who believe it is part of a communication revolution that will forever change how we communicate and it is here to stay in one form or another. I fall into the latter category. But how do we keep track of it all? I recently came across a service which does just that and it is called XeeMe.
But first let me answer the WHY question for those who will ask it. As an emergency management consultant who has spent considerible time focusing on emergency communication, I realize the imortance of social media and the need to incorporate it in the communication section of ones emergency management program. Communication among emergency management professionals is also imortant to help them learn from each other to more effectively perform their duties. XeeMe is a service which might support that.
XeeMe (see me) is a service which enables one to list and track their various social media sites in one place. It provides users with a variety of ways to display their entire social presence with one URL, rather than having to list ones social sites separately. Here is a link to my XeeMe profile which can be accessed with the http://xeeme.com/WilliamMacKay/ URL. You say, anyone can do that with a simple web page, but there is more. XeeMe tracks the number of times ones XeeMe profile is accessed and which of the social sites your viewers choose to visit. The XeeMe analytics and Google Analytics on your XeeMe account help users better measure and understand their social media presence and where they need to focus their attention.
XeeMe provides an opportunty for networking among users who are trying to improve their use of social media, a Facebook group, webinars and a number of training opportunities.
If you would like to try and connect with me on XeeMe this unique link WILL SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT AND AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT WITH MY XeeMe account.
The XeeMe web site provides an overview of their services which you can check out for yourself.
