100 Strangers Project
Ever since coming across Danny Santos portraits of strangers in Singapore on Flickr I have been intrigued by this project. The 100 Strangers project is a learning exercise for those wishing to improve their social and technical skills needed for taking portraits of strangers and telling their stories. The method is to learn by doing. The challenge is to step out of ones comfort zone and take photographs of 100 people you don't know. Approach anyone or a group of people, ask for permission to both take a photo of them and to post it to the 100 strangers group. Get to know your stranger/s. Who are they? What is their life like? They are all unique individuals.
I have just recently stepped out of my comfort zone to begin the project and have found it extremely rewarding. Here is a link to the photos I have taken to date. If you would like your portrait included in the 100 strangers group, contact me and possibly we can work together.
